    Dan,

    Thanks for the response!!

The model number is: TFX26KRDAWW. It is 5 years old this summer.

Where would I find the wiring diagram?

Does the fridge temp of 40 degrees seem like it's working?

    Freezer: 5 (1-9)
    Fridge: 7 (1-9)

Wish I had a reference temp from before the problem....

    What is optimal fridge temp?

It is often located in a small pocket, pouch or envelope behind the kickplate. On some models it may be in an envelope at the back, maybe in the compressor compartment or even pasted right on the back of the cabinet. On the very newest, electronically controlled models (not yours), inside the control panel.

It depends on how cold you like your beer. Anywhere from ~34°F to 42°F is usually acceptable *food* temperature in the fridge compartment. The colder the temp, the longer food will generally last.

BTW. To properly test "food temperature", place a jar, etc. 1/2 - 3/4 full of water on a middle shelf and test that water's temperature after ~12 hours. Each time you adjust the controls you'll need to wait that length of time before getting an accurate reading again.

    JFYI

Default I have similar problem with GSS22WGMCWW

    Jeff,

My GE model has the fridge side warming up. I had a service tech fix it and he blow dried the frost out in the freezer and put in a new heater and bracket. After 4 months it started failing again. I thought that the heater and bracket asm failed again so I bought a new one and replaced it myself. I thought that fixed it but 1 week later it started up again. Now I just blow dry the fridge weekly. Can you please help in diagnosing the issue?

Thats very uncommon to see yours do that, is the complete evaporator coil frosted up when you defrost it?

    Thanks for responding.
Yes. The whole evaporator coil is frosted.
Is there a defrost timer with this model?

Your model has the defrost timer as part of the motherboard, This may explain the problem, i have had to change the motherboard on some of these G.E.'s due to various problems.

Check your owners guide, you may have a extended part warranty on this motherboard.

Is this easy to do? Replace the motherboard. The fridge is 4 years old. I don't have extended warranty. I guess I have to shell out 100.00$ for the motherboard.

But first check your owners guide, some control boards have a 2-5 yr. part warranty.

    Its abit cheaper here:

Angry My GE fridge side also not cold enough!

I also have same problem with my GE TFX22CRDA. Couple weeks ago i defrosted evaporator coil which was covered evenly form top to bottom like snow-like frost. Today the evaporator coil had the same snow-like frost again, so i defrosted again. The fan is good and cool air is coming into the fridge side OK. But i think this will last about a week before i stop cooling again. There is no water problem. The water dispensor is working fine. Or any sign of unusual noises. So any idea would help, thank you.

    P.S. My name is David.
