I have no confidence that they will ever do any service work on it for me..The guy claims it is my water pressure..He timed the amount of water he got out of the dispensor and said it was to low..No gauges or anything like that..He clained his test was better than any gauge...

The local Sears store said they would pay for the valve and replacement if I have it done by a 3rd party...The valve is ordered...

I hate to drag this fridge back to the store....Works fine except for this..

    Default Refrigerator Drip

According to Whirlpool who makes the Kenmore refrigerators with a model number begins with 106. The water flow should be about 1ounce per second or 10 ounces in 10 seconds. To check it, put a large glass measuring cup ( about 16 ounces) under the dispenser and start the water flow, when it gets to the two ounce or four ounce mark start couning, one thousand one, one thousand two, one thousand three, and continue until you get to 10 secounds. Pull the cup back to stop the water and see how many ounces there are. Be sure and subtract the ouncees in the cup before you started counting. Do this about three times until you get the hang of it. Then right down the number of ounces you get. Mine is about 7 ounces in 10 seconds. Then if you have a long blue PUR water filter in the bottom front under the freezer door, pull it out and check the water flow again without the filter. It won't leak, they are designed to run without a filter. Mine is about 11 to 12 ounces in 10 seconds. The blue PUR water filter is restricting the flow of water on mine. But that is not my problem, because I didn't select the water filter, Sears did. So your serviceman's comments about the low water flow aren't valid. The reason it can't dispense the amount of water recommended is because of the filter they specified to use.

It is worth replacing the water shut-of valve just in case it has a seal that doesn't fit well. I ended up going to Lowes where they sell those white plastic fences. Got a white rectangle end cap and put it in the tray under the water dispenser. Now when it drips the end cap catches it and being white, the water evaporates and I don't have to clean water stains off of anything.

    Good luck to you
