Default Kenmore Coldspot Leaking Water All Over!!!

The Sear's repair guy just left our house without fixing our fridge because it would have cost $200 to repair the problem. He told us that the reason we have water leaking all over our fridge was because Kenmore did not install a heat probe in the wall unit and so ice accumulates in the middle of the freezer in the defrost area and then drips into the fridge. There was no way I was paying $200 to have it fixed when the fridge is only 2 years old! What can we do to fix this problem ourselves? There should have been a recall on these refrigerators! I am so disgusted! Please help!
It is a Kenmore Coldspot Model #106.76242401. Top Freezer. Thanks!
